Absolutely Crazy…

Well, I have received several emails and instant messages complaining that I haven’t updated the blog for a while. I apologize and will do better. I am afraid as summer comes, and my banking internship begins the blogging responsibility will transfer to Mandy.

Dennis & Susan flew into town for a quick visit Friday morning. While they were here it seems like we were on a culinary tour…In two days we ate at Flemings(fabulous steaks), Market Street Grill(Oysters, Crab, and Salmon), Smart Cookie(decadent ice-cream sandwiches), and the notorious J-Dawgs. Whenever we go to Dallas there is never really much food in their house…so my theory is that Richmonds must only eat while on vacation.

Saturday my parents and sister rolled into town. All three of the men, Dennis, Dad, and myself all attended Priesthood Session. We were fortunate to have some great seats thanks to Scott Wall, and his access to “Guests of the First Presidency” tickets. It actually has that printed on each ticket.

Sunday it was an early morning to make the commute back up to Salt Lake. All eight of us piled in the cars and attended Music and the Spoken Word and the morning session of General Conference. I hadn’t actually attended conference in person for a couple of years now, and was surprised at how refreshing it is to be there in person vs. just watching on the TV.

Dennis & Susan left to go home to Texas on Monday while my parents will stay with us all week as they engage in genealogical pursuits all around Northern Utah. Monday I also gave my presentation in my investments class, going against the Wall Street analysts recommending a buy on Deutsche Post( DHL Delivery Services) and a Sell on FedEx and UPS. The presentation went over really well, and our group received top marks. But what was even more exciting was that later on Monday Goldman Sachs and Credit Suisse changed their recommendation on Deutsche Post to a BUY and downgraded FedEx and UPS. It feels good to take a risk…and then find that others more experienced than I agree.

The rest of the week has been busy with other less exciting presentations, cases due, and tests for Mandy. I haven’t seen much of my wife the past few days she has been constantly holed up in the office studying for a few final exams before finals.

Wednesday a good friend and member of the church from Sweden came and paid us a visit. Per Barkfors was a counselor in the bishopric of a ward I served in w/ Luke Sutton for near 10 months. He took his 16 year old daughter to the States to see general conference. We met them for lunch and then I gave them the grand tour of BYU. It is fun to see old friends from Sweden…I hope I can get back over there for a visit soon.

What is really exciting is that in a little more than two weeks school will be over, and in a little over 4 weeks we will be in San Francisco!

Umm, I only counted two men. Your dad and your father in law.
