Happy 4th!!

The holiday was a blast! I didn’t have school and Matthew only had to work four hours! It was so nice to spend some time with my husband. The one and only thing Matthew wanted to do when he got off so early from work was to drive down to the Google headquarters. Don’t ask me why, but he did. He kept saying the word Google until I finally gave in and said ok. So we drove down to Silicon Valley where their headquarters are located and Matthew got his picture with one of the signs out front. Matthew was a happy camper from then on out!

Afterwards we came back to San Francisco and walked down to Fisherman’s Wharf where all the action was happening. There literally was a sea of people. The roads were shut down and they were packed with people. There were bands playing and all kinds of booths set up. There were so many things going on we didn’t know what to do with ourselves. After we walked around for a little while and checked out all the activities we walked to Ghirardelli Square where we had dinner. The restaurant was very nice and the food was great! The downfall was we waited an hour to be seated, which I guess is expected on the fourth of July. The thing that shocked us most was that it took two hours to get our entrees! I am not exaggerating one bit. I have never seen a kitchen so backed up in my entire life. We were lucky and had the best seat in the house and were able to watch the fireworks from our table. It was a Kodak moment right outside the window. The night couldn’t have been any more perfect or romantic for that matter!

The sea of people.

When the fireworks were over the partying for San Francisco had just begun. People dancing in the street, crazy teenagers being… well… teenagers... Matthew had work in the morning and I had school bright and early so the night ended for the both of us. We walked the four miles back home and went fast to sleep when our heads hit the pillow. That next morning we struggled getting through the day. We were so tired from having all that fun and our legs were so sore from all the walking we did. All in all it was a blast and totally worth it. We had a great celebration and hope everyone else enjoyed their 4th as much as we did. Happy 4th of July everybody!
