Vacation!!

Our apologies for not updating the blog much since our departure from San Francisco. It has been a busy two weeks since we left the city by the bay. After moving back to Spanish Fork we went down to Dallas to meet up with the rest of Mandy’s family. From there we all boarded a flight to St. Louis on our way to Nauvoo. We stopped in St. Louis for some amazing Missouri BBQ at a place called Bandana’s. If you are every passing through the St. Louis airport it is right across the street. After the BBQ we drove on up to old Nauvoo. It is roughly a three hour drive to the north along the shore of the Mississippi River.

If you are of the LDS faith and have never been to Nauvoo you really should go. It is such a tremendous place. The weather was hot and boy was it humid, but the town was beautiful. There was definitely a special feeling there as you walk the streets where Joseph Smith, Brigham Young, John Taylor and Wilford Woodruff had walked. The Nauvoo temple is breathtaking and gorgeous. By far the nicest temple I have ever been in. We got to see church history sites at Carthage, Far West and Adam Ondi Ahman as well.

Following our time in Nauvoo we returned to Dallas and spent an additional few days visiting family and friends in the area. It’s always fun to go back to Texas, the area is always growing and it is fun to see our family and friends.

Now we are back in Utah both back at our old jobs waiting for school to start on Tuesday. Two semesters to go and we are done. How great it will be.
