Salt Lake City Greek Festival

Today, feeling totally over Utah Valley I decided to grab the wife and head to the valley north for something a little different. Last night as I was watching the news, the weather lady was broadcasting from the Salt Lake Greek Festival. Having personally never heard of the event I was surprised to learn that it is actually the largest Greek Festival west of the Mississippi, and the largest ethnic gathering in the state of Utah. (doesn’t take much!)

So when we woke up this morning, I informed Mandy of my intention to get out of ‘The Bubble’ and hit up the Greek Festival. I was surprised at how large the event was. It was held at the Greek Orthodox Church of Salt Lake. They had all sorts of great food, drink, dancing and crafts for visitors to partake in. Mandy struggled with the food, asking everybody what type of animals were used in production of the fancy Greek dishes.(Too Picky!) I thought the food however was great! Delicious Gyro’s, great pork and grilled lamb. It was a lot of fun, and great to get away...
