San Diego Fires

When my Grandfather retired from UCLA as a Business School Professor a number of years ago he bought an avocado ranch in North San Diego County. It was his project to keep busy and to enjoy his golden years. Growing up, my sister and I would go with Grandpa down to the ranch on Saturdays to help out with different projects. It provided a lot of great memories for the family and a plentiful supply of free avocados for anybody that knew my grandparents. Unfortunately it fell victim to the fires that ravaged the area over the past two weeks. Luckily the house was saved, but much of the grove is gone along with trailers, cars, pump stations and the like.

Grandpa is quite a bit older now so my mom and her sisters have the hefty task of cleaning up and getting the place running again. I am really eager to get down there and check it out for myself. Here are a few pictures…

Let me know if my office can help. The fires are one of our number one priorities.

So sorry to hear about your Grandpa's farm...Sounds like there were some good memories made there.
