Thanksgiving In Texas

Thanksgiving was wonderful! It was a really busy week but enjoyable at the same time. When I arrived my mom put me straight to work. My Uncle Gary is opening up a second location in Highland Park so we mostly helped over there so they can get it open. I think this new location is my favorite. Gary has such a talent and I just can’t believe some of the stuff he comes up with. The finished product is going to look incredible!
Matthew’s work let him fly out Wednesday night! I was so happy that everything worked out for him to come and have some time off. He only had to work 4 hours his entire trip! We were all very excited about that. My Mom always hosts Thanksgiving at her place so the entire Riggs clan came over. The house was full of people and little kids running around. The food and company was great! I made homemade rolls and they were a hit! Marissa kept eating them before people came over so I guess that was sign they were pretty good. After visiting and saying goodbye to everyone we went and saw two movies! The first one we saw was Twilight. Everyone had seen it except Matthew. Don’t worry, we enjoyed just as much the second time around and to my surprise Matthew loved the movie. It left him wanting more and asking all kinds of questions. I keep telling him he needs to read the book. After twilight we saw Bolt. This movie is hilarious. The hamster in the ball was our favorite!
Friday, we went shopping at North Park Mall with my parents. Ryan and Marissa were off with the Basshams this day. There were so many people at the mall but there weren’t many people carrying shopping bags. I guess everyone was window shopping. After the mall we decided to go see Australia. I loved this movie! You have to go see it. The guys thought it was good but my mom and I loved it!
Saturday the girls went to Canton and did some shopping. We took Grandma Joyce along with us. She is so funny. She talked the entire way there and once we got there we kept losing her. She kept wondering off. She definitely kept us entertained. Canton is such a cool place. It reminds me of an oversized Quilted Bear. This place was huge and filled with all sorts of arts and crafts. We all left with a bunch of Christmas decorations. It was really a fun place to shop! That afternoon Matthew and I had lunch with the Watkins. They are great friends of ours and it was great to see and catch up with them. After lunch I had to head home because we had a bunch of girls come over that Marissa and I grew up with. It was great to see everyone and all the little kids. This was the first time I had see anyone since high school graduation. I had a fun time catching up and the kids were definitely our entertainment.
Sunday we said bye to the family and headed back to sunny California. On our taxi ride back to the apartment I realized I really love living in San Francisco. It is so beautiful here and I am so grateful for the experiences I am having in my life while living in such a great city.
In a couple of weeks we will be flying down to LA to spend Christmas with the Millers. We look forward to seeing them soon.

The yummy rolls I made
