Pumpkin Festival

This past weekend we drove to Half Moon Bay for the famous pumpkin festival. I had heard so much about it that I told Matthew we had to go to it this year. So his co-workers kindly let him have the morning off and we went. There were so many craft booths, lots of pumpkin food, a parade, pumpkin carving, a haunted house and so much more. Every year they have a giant pumpkin weigh off. People from all over grow these huge pumpkins and then travel to California to enter the contest. This year’s winner was from Iowa and weighed in at 1,658 pounds!! That is a huge pumpkin people! After walking around and enjoying all the festivities we drove to the pumpkin patch and picked out some pumpkins. This was my first pumpkin patch and I had so much fun. You walk around until finally one of the pumpkins says “pick me, pick me”. In the end three little pumpkins called my name and we took them home. They give our place the perfect Halloween feel. Going to the festival made it feel like fall around here and now I can’t wait for Halloween. Trick-or-Treat!

So much fun! I remember going there when I was younger. The Bay Area has so many fun fall things to do. my favorite was always going to the pumpkin patch at Ardenwood Farms in Fremont. I'm not sure if they still have one there...
