The Miller Times

It's about time for an update on our lives. Yes, we live in a fun city. We love to explore it and enjoy the perks of city life, but there is more to our lives than play. I promise. However, it may not come across that exciting but that's ok. We are happy and thats all that matters.

Seriously not much has changed. Matthew continues to enjoy his i-banking job which comes with ups and downs like any other job out there. He seems to always be traveling which is a nice perk for him. Who doesn't want to get out of the office? Lately he has been focusing on cloud
computing (don't ask me what it is because I don't fully understand it myself) and that keeps him happy.

I passed my certification exam in January. I am so ecstatic to have that past me and just focus on looking for work. Not the easiest time right now but things seem to be looking up. Other than looking for work I am just a typical house wife enjoying all the many visitors we get. We love how much family has come to enjoy SF with us! I have to mention my friends. I have great friends (babies included)! This may sound so cliche but they are seriously my family away from home. They are a wonderful support system during those long banking hours.

we missed you allison and mariah (working girls) :)

Outside of Matthew and I, my Uncle Mark finish his first round of chemo/radiation and recently had his surgery. It was successful. They were able to remove the tumor but did find cancer in 2 of the 22 lymph nodes they removed. He will start his second round of chemo (for 6 months) in another week or so. Our thoughts are always with him and his family.

Diane(Matthew's mom) was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma (b-cell) cancer about a month ago. It was caught at a very aggressive/fast growing stage. She had her first round of chemo back in January and just had her second round on Tuesday (as of now she will have 8 rounds). Matthew and I have been flying back and forth to LA helping out when we can and will continue to do so for the next 6 months. GS has been great about understanding the situation which has been a huge blessing for Matthew. Diane has so much love and support from family and friends to get through this challenging time. We love you Diane!
