The Road to Hana

We took the entire day to drive the Road to Hana. Matthew had the tour guide book out and had us stopping at every waterfall along the way. All I could do was smile and laugh. I was anxious to show Matthew the Seven Sacred Pools and the cute little town my grandparents lived in when they served a two year mission in Hana. It had been eleven years since I was there so it was fun to go back and remember fun memories I had with my family.

We hiked waterfalls, took in the beautiful scenery, endured the curvy roads (I drove which helped), stopped for a picnic looking out at the ocean, walked on a black sand beach, ate delicious banana bread from a local stand along the road, found the local LDS Church, and swam in fresh cold spring water. It was a perfect way to the spend the day with each other. Imagine all the fun conversations we had during those 6 hours in the car :) Not to mention the relief our skin had from not being in direct sunlight.
