2011 NBA Champions

When the Mavericks made it all the way to the finals and were going up against the Heat of all teams, I turned to Matthew and said it's my turn to go to the NBA finals. Matthew went a few years back with my Dad when Dallas was playing against Miami and lost the finals in Game 6. Big let down. Fast forward to 2011... Dallas vs. Miami again! I wasn't about to pass up going to the NBA Finals. So I looked at my work schedule, found a game in Dallas on a day I wasn't working (pure luck), bought a last minute plane ticket to Dallas, called up my Dad and said I bought two tickets to Game 4 (Happy Father's Day) and we are going! The game was awesome! The crowd was insane! The energy was incredible! Best of all we won the game and went on to Miami and won the entire series. The Mavericks became 2011 NBA Finals Champions!! It was our time! I am a proud fan and feel lucky to have been apart of it. Oh, and yes I bought the finals champions locker room t-shirt the night they won. That's what any true Mavericks fan would do :)

Of course I a made a trip out of it and was able to spend some time with family. My mom and I drove down to College Station to visit Marissa and Zoe for a day. We had some good pool time in the Texas heat. Zoe changes so much between visits and is just the sweetest little girl. It takes a little bit for her to warm up to me now that she's older and doesn't recognize/know me. It breaks my heart :( but that is the result when you live miles away from all of your family. One day she will know and love me and I will be her favorite Aunt (is that possible since I am her only Aunt).

I also went to a Texas Rangers game with my Dad. It had been years since I went to a Rangers game and it brought back a lot of memories when we would go as a family and sit right behind 3 base dugout. Those were the "good old days".

I met the newest addition to the Riggs/Rowen Family, baby Joshua. Bianca looks amazing and Joshua (baby 4!) is the cutest little boy. It was great to spend quality time with the cousins and kiddos at the pool and catch up on each other lives.

The grandparents came over one night for dinner and to watch the Mavericks game of course. There was a lot of cheering and screaming at the TV. It was a fun night and I love how my Grandmas are hard core fans.

I had a great trip and can't wait to go back to my Texas roots again and see family. I miss them!
