Father's Day Weekend

Last Thursday my parents flew into town to have some fun here in San Francisco with Matthew and me. Their trip started off with a bang when dad’s luggage was lost. When we left the airport we stopped by the my apartment to drop off mom’s luggage and then headed to Tommy Bahama and Nordstrom so dad could buy some new clothes and shoes. Let me tell you he was having the time of his life having an excuse to go buy some clothes at Tommy Bahama. After shopping at the mall we headed down to Fisherman’s Wharf and the Golden Gate Bridge. After playing with the parents we met up with Matthew since he was able to get away for dinner. We ate at this really fun place called B52, a trendy Spanish restaurant across the street from the GS office.

Friday Dad, Mom and I drove down to Carmel while Matthew was at work. It was a lot of fun, walks along the beach, cool shops, and great restaurants.

Saturday we walked down to the Farmers Market. Matthew was not with us because he had a super busy week/weekend. We had a really good time walking around and buying fresh fruit. Dad was buying all kinds of things. He even ate fresh oysters. I think he was heaven. We then walked over to the arts and craft section. Mom bought some jewelry and I bought a nice painting of San Francisco and of course I bought some jewelry as well. Mom and Dad also got a caricature done. It turned out really cute. After the Market we hopped on the ferry to Sausalito. We had so much fun riding on the Ferry seeing all the different views of the bay area. Sausalito was a really fun place to visit. There are all kinds of shops. It was a really neat place and really pretty there.

After all that fun we then headed back over to Fisherman’s Wharf to take my dad out for crab. He had to have his crab while he was here. We went to this really nice restaurant called Eagle CafĂ©. He got an entire crab, 12 oysters and a salad all for himself. He was surely living in the moment of Fathers Day. After lunch we went to Muir Woods and walked through the forest and saw all kinds of huge redwood trees. It was absolutely breathtaking. The area was just beautiful. After all of that we came home and met up with Matthew and had some cake and watched dad open up his gifts.

All in all it was a great couple of days and it was nice to get out and see the sights of the city. Thanks Mom & Dad for the fun visit. Dad we hope you had a great Father's Day.

Looks like you had a great weekend!! That crab looks wonderfully yummy :) I hate to hear about your dad's luggage though. I use Global Bag Tags as extra protection, because I don't necessarily trust airlines... lol.
