A lot has been going on these last couple of days. On Saturday Goldman had a BBQ at Stimson Beach for it's technology bankers, so we picked up a couple of Matthew’s fellow interns and drove up. It was great to finally put faces with names. The food was great, catered to the hilt. The lunch was a little intimidating because right when we sat down at the table all of his bosses swarmed me and started asking me questions and reassuring me that Matthew working at Goldman is a good thing and that the hours do get better. All in all it was a lot of fun and we both really enjoyed ourselves. Later that night we went to a movie and drove around the Marina getting ideas for future apartments. The Marina has all kinds of fun shops and restaurants. It is a really nice area and has a lot to do. At the moment it is our first choice for a neighborhood if we get to come back.
On Monday, Matthew and I drove over to Walnut Creek to get my Calculus class transferred to BYU and then met up with Chris and Jenny Heyman for lunch. It was great to see them one last time before we head back to Utah. Jenny has been a great friend to me this summer and kept me company while Matthew was working. I am going to miss my weekly lunch outing with her and Kate.
Tuesday, after waiting over three hours at Costco to put new tires on my car we drove to Palo Alto. Out of all the places Matthew and I have been the place we can both equally see ourselves settling down is in Palo Alto. If you have never been it is the most picturesque city with a small-town feel. It has a beautiful main street with small shops…but right around the corner is a full service Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom. Stanford is located there along with quite a few technology companies. All the homes are so beautiful. We spent some serious time walking around Stanford’s campus; Matthew for business school investigation and me for PA studies. Matthew also wanted to go see more companies while we were there. So we had to go drive down Sand Hill Road, which is apparently famous for being the center of technology investing. For me it was nothing but a bunch of office buildings, but he sure got excited about it.

Wednesday was Craig’s birthday so we drove down to Orange County to be with him and spend a few days with him and the rest of Matthew’s family. Today my husband wanted to go watch airplanes with his Dad. When he was younger they always used to go to this hill that looks over LAX and listen to the pilots on the radio as they watched planes land and take-off. So we went out to pick up his Dad from work and I got an education as to all the different types of planes and where they were going to or coming from. It was neat to see Matthew and his Dad have such a good time together. After watching the planes we went to this really good Mexican restaurant in the ghetto. It’s called Tito’s Tacos and boy is it good. By far the best salsa and taco’s I have ever had. If you are ever in LA, you should definitely hit up this place, just make sure to go during the day.
We are planning to head back to San Francisco tomorrow and continue the local sightseeing until we move back to Utah on the 11th. Fun times ahead!
