It is decided. I officially accepted my offer from Goldman Sachs this week, sending in my signed offer letter Thursday afternoon. I was fortunate to have a couple really enticing opportunities surface between the time I left Goldman this summer and now, but after much thought and consideration I decided Goldman was the best place to spend the next two years. Friday, the day Goldman received the letter, the Dow dropped over 100 points and Countrywide announced layoffs of ¼ of its workforce. Hopefully the market will position itself for a great two year growth cycle starting next July when I begin the Analyst Program!!!

I will be spending 100+ hours a week on the 42nd floor of this building. Funny how a guy who is afraid of heights takes a job that keeps him 42 floors above an earthquake fault in San Francisco's tallest building near 20 hours a day, seven days a week.

Congrats on the job opportunity! I almost cringed at the part where you mentioned you would be working 100+ hours a week. It's so true! My dad works at Morgan Stanley, and my family TOTALLY knows what it's like. I'm sure you'll do great, though. Congrats again, and hopefully we can get together so I can finally meet the two of you.
Congrats Matt!
'Atta boy. Dude, I still can't get on to Luke's blog...
