Texas State Fair

Matthew and I made a special trip down to Texas to visit the Texas State Fair. Matthew never had a chance to check it out when we lived there so he was determined to go this year. I went down a few days earlier to hang out with family and play with Zoe. Matthew met up with me on the weekend for the fair.

The day of the fair it was rainy. It sure did make for an adventure but there wasn't as many people there so it was nice to not have it so crowded. It was light rain until the very end. We enjoyed trying some of the fried food (cinnamon roll wrapped in bacon, jambayala, ice cream) along with the tater twisters (my favorite). We played a few carnival games and won Zoe a big cow which I'm sure Marissa was thrilled about  :) My dad and I ended the day with a twisty/upside down carnival ride in the rain. We were crazy. Or maybe just me. Thanks dad for going along with me :)

A few weeks later Big Tex, the famous mechanical cowboy that welcomes everyone to the fair, caught on fire. RIP Big Tex.
