Happy Birthday Scott Wall!

What a week it has been! We both have had tests in near every class over the past several days. What makes things even better is those few teachers who chose not to test us the end of last week decided to test us the beginning of this next week. As such our lives have not been very exciting, both of our noses buried in tomes of Accounting, Econometrics, Molecular Biology, and Chronic Disease Prevention. All the studying has not made for many exciting things.

However Saturday we did escape the grasps of Utah Valley and traveled up to Salt Lake. Our good friend Scott Wall had his birthday last week while Mandy and I were in San Francisco. So we took the opportunity to take a break from our studies and met him for dinner on Saturday at Market Street Grill near Little Cottonwood Canyon. This is one of Scott’s and my favorite restaurants and one of Mandy’s least favorite restaurants….the reason…FISH, lots of FISH!!!!

I take any opportunity I can to eat some decent seafood, since Mandy near forbids it in our home. I can’t even grill a simple salmon filet without begging for her approval. Apparently the stench makes her absolutely nauseous and is too harsh to bear. What is totally crazy is she doesn’t even like shrimp…not even the jumbo gulf ones. She says the texture is too slimy for her delicate palate… oh well…

The Market Street Grill is by far the best restaurant for oysters, crab legs, and fresh fish in the area. I can’t wait for my father-in-law to come to town for general conference as he is one of the very few who will enjoy a platter of their raw oysters with me. They import them daily from Alaska, the Northeast, and Europe. As Scott is not one for the oysters, crab legs were our meal of choice for the night….except for Mandy who had the Prime Rib.

Sunday has been a very peaceful day. We attended church where Mandy taught a lesson in Young Women. I grilled hamburgers for lunch/dinner and we enjoyed the clear skies and seventy degree weather we have been having. As for now it’s back to the books getting ready for round two of tests…

Mike and I seem to have similar marital problems. I LOVE seafood. He will eat shrimp, but that's about it. I don't understand what their problem is, Matt! :)
