A New Year.

We welcome 2013 with open arms. It's a time to remember the past year (good and bad), make goals, and start off fresh. A lot happened in 2012 and I am happy to report that it was 80% good. And I only say 80% because the last few months of the year were really really hard. We had tender hearts for reasons that are just to personal to mention on the internet, but I'm happy to report that our hearts have mostly mended. It's hard going through those challenging times but once you are looking from the outside in we are able to learn and grow stronger from the experience. So I'm grateful for that. And I'm grateful for family and friends that helped us during that extremely hard time.

2012 was a year of change for us. Matthew left GS and started at Sequoia Capital. He is a changed man with the lesser hours. We moved, again. Still in the city and loving it. The big change for me was that I left LPCH. I am back to sleeping like a normal person. It's great to be a "day-walker" again.  It's been wonderful and I love all the free time. I call it my "me time".

We are happy and ready to embrace 2013. For New Years we went out to dinner with friends, went to a party, and then ended the night along embarcadero watching fireworks at midnight.

The following morning we did a little shopping and got our picture taken with the Christmas tree in Union Square before it was taken down. Another silly tradition of ours here in the city.

Here are a few snapshots.

2011 welcomes 2012.

2011 might have started with this big hard bang but that doesn't mean we didn't have some good times along the way. We went to Hawaii and Matthew loved exploring Maui for the first time. I got a job as a Surgical Technologist! Uncle Mark and Diane beat their cancer. Little Z turned one and continues to grow up way to fast. We got to spend the holidays with both our families which was a huge blessing and felt like a miracle.

New Years Eve Megan and Dave came up to the city. We went to dinner, walked around Pier 39, went to Union Square to go ice skating and learned it was all sold out, watched the fireworks go off at midnight and toasted the new year back at the apartment. It was a great way to end such a roller coaster year and welcome in a new year with a clean slate.

2012 is here and looking great. It's definitely going to be the year of change and adventure!!

Here are a few pictures of us bringing in the new year....

New Years In The City

2010 was a great year filled with accomplishments and fun memories. Significant events that made this past year so awesome....
  • Hawaii
  • Our niece, Zoe, was born
  • I graduated from my Surgical Technology program
  • A month of world traveling to Texas, London, Sweden, Denmark, LA, Utah & NY
  • Matthew officially became an Associate
  • My Dad was released as Bishop after 7+ years
  • Many fun visitors came our way
  • We celebrated 5 years of marriage

We spent New Years Eve with the Pickerd's this year. It was great to finally have friends in town for this holiday. Usually it is just the two of us celebrating the coming year. We went to dinner at Betelnut and then watched the fireworks at midnight. We had a great time.

We hope everyone has been enjoying 2011 so far. I can't believe we are already 10 days into the year. For us, 2011 has started off a little rocky but on a positive note I passed the Surgical Technology Certification Exam & my dad is coming Thursday just to play and hang out :) Matthew and I have so much to be grateful for & feel deeply blessed. We look forward to what 2011 brings. The good/bad & the foreseen/unforeseen. 2011 we welcome you :)

Happy New Year, everyone!!
