Three weeks in Texas.

Matthew is the best for letting me spend three weeks with family. I had great quality time with my nieces, Marissa, the rest of the family and even got see some friends along the way. It was much needed and I'm grateful that I got to spend so much time in Texas.

Things I did/happened...
  • Cora was born!
  • Spent a week with Marissa and the girls. I love that I was around for Cora's first three weeks of life.
  • Quality time with Z included playing at the park, making carmel corn, gymnastics and just being silly at home.
  • Matthew flew in for Thanksgiving. He met baby Cora and had too much fun with Z. He was seriously her favorite for those days he was around.
  • Lunch with friends. So great to catch up with all of them.
  • Lunch with Paris, Jake, and Jaxen.
  • When the parents weren't working we were having fun at the movie theater or eating yummy dinners.
  • Spent time with both sets of Grandparents. Grandpa Robb makes the best fires. We made smores.
  • Thanksgiving! We had an early dinner with the Rigg's family and then had a little dinner over at Marissa and Ryan's. We were stuffed!
  • I'm so thankful for Matthew in my life. He is my rock.

A Big Texas Christmas.

It's March. I know.

Our Christmas was filled with a lot of family time and delicious Texas food (blue bell ice cream, various smoked meats, and texmex)! We had a big family dinner Christmas Eve, a wonderful Christmas Sunday, saw a couple great movies, took a carriage ride through Highland Park to view the Christmas lights, and spent quality time with cute little Z.  It was a happy Christmas and we feel lucky to have spent the day together with family.

BYU + Update

When we arrived in the land of mountains we headed straight down to Provo for the BYU game, grabbing a J-Dawg along the way of course. The game we attended was absolutely insane.  The Cougars won the game in the last 11 seconds and as you can imagine the BYU fans were going crazy. We almost left early because it wasn't looking to good but we stuck it out and were happy we did.

After the game we headed over to Todd (my cousin) and Meredith's apartment for a quick visit and carmel corn. It was great to see family and catch up. We missed you Adam, Stephanie and Sadie!

It was great/weird being back at BYU. We had some good laughs watching the BYU dating seen. I'm so happy that stage of life is over. Being back on campus was fun but at the same time it felt like I didn't really belong anymore. Maybe because I accomplished all I needed to and have moved on from that part of my life. Either that or I have been in the liberal land of San Francisco for too long. Who knows? I have happy memories at BYU. I learned/experienced many things that shaped me into an adult. I found myself at BYU and because of that it will always be a special place to me.

Enough of that.

Us lately:
  • We are both workaholics. Why?!
  • We are happy.
  • I have been dealing with a torn disc for the past year and finally getting treatment. I'm hoping for some relief soon.
  • My Uncle has finished his chemo/radiation treatments. Once he recovers he can have his final surgery and be on his way to feeling better.
  • Diane's last PET scan in October came back cancer free! She isn't out of the clear yet (probably not for year) but we are happy about the good news. She has another scan in January.
  • Megan (matthew's sister) and Dave moved to Sunnyvale in September. It's a nice change having some sort of family near by.

T is for...

Texas. Thanksgiving. Turkey. Thankful.

We always have a great time spending the holidays with family and this trip didn't disappoint. We had a delicious Thanksgiving dinner. 30+ people of the Riggs bunch made it complete. Matthew, Dad and Ryan topped their day by attending the Dallas Cowboys game. All 3 had a pretty eventful first NFL experience. Matthew had a blast and wants to make it a bi-annual tradition. We will see :)

The last two days of our trip was filled with shopping, ICE - Charlie Brown Christmas at the Gaylord, Scentsy party, a Richmond gathering and dinner at Truluck's. We had a fun time with family and miss them already.

There are so many things to be thankful for. I am thankful for...
